• The Cabinet has approved the signing and implementation of the MoU between Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and ‘Transport for London’ to improve public transport in the country.
  • Cabinet has approved the Agreement between India and Myanmar on Land Border Crossing.
  • National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has approved five projects worth Rs. 295.01 crore. Three projects pertain to sewage management in West Bengal at an estimated cost of Rs 278.6 crore, one relates to sewage management in Uttarakhand at an estimated cost of Rs 4.68 crore and one project worth Rs 11.73 crore is related to ghat improvement works in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
  • MoU between India and Canada for cooperation in the field of Science & Technology. The  MoU will provide a mechanism and help to foster scientific cooperation between R&D and academic institutions of India and Canada. Approved by the Cabinet.
  • Implementation of CCEA decision on the closure of Tungabhadra Steel Products Limited. Approved by the Cabinet.
  • Fixed term for Chairperson and Members of the National Trust- Cabinet approved the proposal to amend Section 4(1) and Section 5(1) of the National Trust for the Welfare of Person with Autism, Cerebral Plasy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999 to fix the term of the Chairperson and Members of the Board of National Trust for three years. Approved by the Cabinet.
  • The Centre has sanctioned projects over 10,000 crore rupees in the North East for better network connectivity. 2 MoUs have been signed to cover the uncovered areas in the North East including Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
  • As per the Power Minister RK Singh, India will set up a $350-million fund to finance solar projects as the country steps up efforts to achieve its ambitious target of adding 175 gigawatts (GW) in renewable energy by 2022.
