• Social networking giant Facebook partnered with the National Commission for Women (NCW) to launch a Digital Literacy Programme (DLP). The DLP will be launched in collaboration with the Cyber Peace Foundation (CPF).

  • PM Modi is in Singapore on the last leg of his 3 nation tour, talks between Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and his counterpart Lee Hsien Loong led to the signing of 8 agreements between the two sides which covered areas as wide as military cooperation and connectivity. The 8 key fields under which the agreements were exchanged are: Naval cooperation, Economic co-operation, Fintech, Cybersecurity, Nursing, Combating Narcotics smuggling & Human Trafficking, Personnel Management and Public Administration, MoU between the NITI Aayog and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE) on Cooperation in the Field of Planning.
  • India, China Sign 2 Agreements On Brahmaputra Water Data Sharing & Non-Basmati Rice Export- The agreements include continuing to share Brahmaputra water data during flood season and exporting non-Basmati rice to China. The two countries have set a trade target of 100 billion dollars by 2020. During the hour-long meeting between Mr Modi and Mr Xi, both countries agreed on several initiatives to take forward the spirit of Wuhan Informal Summit.
  • Trump And Kim Sign Agreement On Denuclearization After Historic Talks. The United States has decided to provide security guarantees to North Korea, in exchange of Pyongyang's firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula. Both nations commit to establishing new relations in accordance with the desire of the people of the two countries for peace and prosperity.
  • The Maharashtra government and Canada’s Quebec province have signed a pact to increase the economic cooperation, especially in areas of information technology, biotechnology, artificial intelligence and welfare of the tribal community. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who was on a week-long tour to the US and Canada, signed MoU to this effect with Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard. They also discussed ways to increase collaboration over knowledge-sharing on ports.
  •  India and the US have agreed to hold comprehensive talks to address trade and economic issues. 
  • Mr J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare exchanged the MoU with the State Health Ministers of 20 States marking their commitment towards the launch of the Ayushman Bharat – National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM)A web portal for initiating the empanelment of hospitals under the mission was also launched.
  • Flipkart-owned PhonePe has partnered cab aggregator Ola that will allow riders to book rides using the former’s payment platform. With this partnership, users can enjoy the ease of using their preferred ride-sharing app from within PhonePe while being assured of the reliability and integrity of their payments.
  •  Marg ERP limited, a leading Inventory and Accounting software solution company has partnered with ICICI Bank, India's largest private sector bank by consolidated assets, to offer an integrated payments platform to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) customers, using MARG's accounting software. This integration aims to promote 'Connected Banking' and enables ICICI Bank's current account holders to securely connect their bank account with the MARG ERP software.
  • President Ram Nath Kovind reached Suriname capital Paramaribo on the second leg of his three-nation tour to Greece, Suriname and Cuba. He was received at the Paramaribo airport by Suriname President Desire Delano Bouterse. Mr Kovind was given a Guard of Honour. An MoU was signed in this regard, along with four others in the field of elections, diplomatic academies partnership, employment for the spouse of diplomats of the two countries and archives. The President also addressed the National Assembly of Suriname, thereby becoming the first foreign Head of State to address the Assembly.
  • Four MoUs have been signed under ‘Adopt a Heritage’ scheme and six more are at an advanced stage, according to Mr Raghvendra Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Culture. 
  1. Mount Stok Kangri Trek Route, Ladakh: The MoU for adoption was signed between Ministry of Tourism, Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) and the state government of Jammu & Kashmir.
  2. Gangotri Temple Area & Trail to Gaumukh, Uttarakhand: The MoU was signed between Ministry of Tourism, ATOAI and Uttarakhand Government.
  3. Red Fort, Delhi: The MoU was signed between Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, ASI and Dalmia Bharat Limited.
  4. Gandikota Fort, Andhra Pradesh:  The MoU was signed between Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, ASI and Dalmia Bharat Limited.
  • India and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to promote bilateral relations and agreed to enhance economic cooperation, particularly in sustainable water development. Nitin Gadkari, the Union   Minister for Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Road Transport & Highways and Shipping held wide-ranging talks with Sirodjidin Muhridin, Foreign Minister of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.
  • India and Cuba have signed two MoUs in the field of biotechnology, traditional medicine and homoeopathy. The agreements were inked following delegation-level talks between President Ram Nath Kovind and his Cuban counterpart Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel in Havana.
  • Nepali Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli is on his first visit to China after assuming the charge as Prime Minister. China will build a railway connecting the western region of Tibet with Nepal, one of several bilateral deals signed during Oli’s visit to Beijing. The link will connect the Tibetan city of Xigaze with Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. The two sides signed more than 10 agreements involving technology, transportation, infrastructure and political cooperation.
  • Saudi Aramco and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) have signed an MoU to jointly develop and build an integrated refinery and petrochemicals complex at Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The MoU was signed by Amin H. Nasser, Saudi Aramco President and CEO and Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State & ADNOC Group CEO.

  3. MOU between the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, India and the Department of Information Communications Technology of Seychelles on Cooperation in the area of Cyber Security.
  4. Cultural Exchange Programme between India and Seychelles for the years 2018-2022.
  5. Technical Agreement on Sharing White Shipping Information between the Indian Navy and the National Information Sharing and Coordination Center of Seychelles.
  6. MOU between the Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of External Affairs of India and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Seychelles.
  • Power distribution company BYPL (BSES Yamuna Power Limited) has signed an MoU with Business Finland, a Finnish government agency, for collaborative activities in different areas, including energy efficiency and electric vehicles. The three year MoU on 'cooperation in the power distribution sector' will encompass joint studies, pilot projects, knowledge-sharing and consultancy, research projects for inducting future and emerging technologies at the distribution utility level.
  • Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, signed an MoU with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to scale up the short term healthcare courses through its available robust platform. The combined objective under this MoU is to scale up the health programs to create trained personnel in the healthcare sector and to set up a dedicated cell for developing, implementing and certifying the skill-based programs at IGNOU.
  • NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurs Platform has signed five Statements of Intent (SoIs) with financial institutions and social organisations to provide assistance to women entrepreneurs and address the finance-related challenges faced by them. The SoIs were inked with Shri Mahila Sewa Sahakari Bank Limited, Indiabulls Housing Finance Limited, SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited, Sreemanta Sankar Mission and the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA).
  • Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) has inked a pact with South Korean firm NANO Co Ltd for design and manufacture of emission controlling devices for coal-based power plants. The Technology Collaboration Agreement (TCA) with NANO Co is for design and manufacture of SCR Catalysts for De-NOx application in coal-fired plants.
  • NITI Aayog and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) have signed a Statement of Intent (SOI) to work together towards implementing a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) application using Blockchain Technology for fertiliser subsidy management. They will jointly develop the use case, undertake research, interact with multiple stakeholders, develop Blockchain solutions, exchange learnings, organise forums, and disseminate learnings across their networks.
