• Crescendo:- a gradual increase in loudness in a piece of music.
      Ex:- The music rose in a whirling crescendo as the tempo got faster.

  • Molestation:- Sexual assault of a person, especially a woman or child.
      Ex:- He was tried for molestation of two young girls.

  • Sued:- Take someone to court, legal proceeding against a person for redress.
      Ex:- I sued for breach of contract.

  • Detained:- Keep someone from proceeding by holding them back.
       Ex:- She was detained without trial for 2 years.

  • Jarring:- Inappropriate in a shocking way.
       Ex:- They basically cut out an entire scene from one episode in a really jarring manner.

  • Reinvent:- Change(something) so much that it appears to be entirely new.
      Ex:-The actor wants to reinvent himself as an independent movie mogul( powerful person).

  • Anachronistic:- Belonging to a period other than that being portrayed.
    Ex:- She is rebelling against anachronistic morality of her parents.

  • Lugubrious:- Looking or sounding sad or dismal (depressed).
    Ex:- His faced looked even more lugubrious than usual.

  • Overweening:- Showing excessive confidence.
     Ex:- Your modesty is cover for your overweening conceit.

  • Newfangled:- Different from what one is used to; objectionably new.
      Ex:- I've no time for such newfangled nonsense.

  • Ineluctable:- unable to be resisted or avoided.
    Ex:- Nikit has the irritating habit of arguing his opinions ineluctable facts.

  • Gargantuan:- Emphasizing that it is very large.
    Ex:- It was meant to have curbed her gargantuan appetite. 

  • Indelible:- Unlikely to be forgotten, permanent.
    Ex:- The horrors he experienced are imprinted, perhaps indelibly, in the brain.

  • Rasping:- Harsh or granting; rough.
    Ex:- The sound of the audience and his rasping voice would make me feel less lonely.

  • Squabble:- Quarrel about something that is not important.
     Ex:- The children were squabbling over the remote control gadget for the television.
