• The Indian Air Force (IAF) has removed all the temporary restrictions on all air routes in the Indian air space. The Indian Air Force had put temporary airspace restrictions on Indian air space on February 27.
  • The US will end preferential trade status for India next week, President Donald Trump has confirmed amid a deepening row over protectionism. India had been the largest beneficiary of a scheme that allows some goods to enter the US duty-free.
  • UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has issued the first Golden Residence Permit in Abu Dhabi, as part of the Investors Permanent Residence Systemaimed to attract investors, entrepreneurs and qualified individuals who meet its criteria.
  •  In Russia, the first tourist train traveling through Russia's Arctic region and on to Norway set off from St. Petersburg station with 91 passengers aboard for the inaugural trial journey. The train, named, Zarengold, complete with two restaurant cars will travel from Saint Petersburg through, the whole trip will take 11 days and allow passengers to discover areas difficult to access by other means.
  •  Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that single-use plastics will be banned in the country from 2021. He declared it a global challenge to phase out the plastic bags, straws and cutlery clogging the world’s oceans.
  • The Government of Japan has decided to invest an amount of 205.784 billion Yen,equivalent to approximately Rs.13,000 crore, in several ongoing as well as new projects in different states of India's North- Eastern region. 
  • India successfully conducted a first test flight of the indigenously developed Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle (HSTDV) from a base off the Odisha coast. The HSTDV is an unmanned scramjet (allowing supersonic combustion) demonstration vehicle that can cruise up to a speed of Mach 6 (or six times the speed of sound) and rise up to an altitude of 32 km in 20 seconds.
  • A team of Tribhuvan University and National Geographic Society scientists and researchers have installed the world's highest, fully automated weather stations atop Mount Everest.
  • On June 12, 2019, The Venezuelan government announced that it will issue new banknotes due to racketing hyperinflation which eroded the currency’s value. The central bank of Venezuela will release new Banknotes of 10,000, 20,000 and 50,000 bolivar denominations.
  • The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has, for the first time, opened itslaboratories for Indian school students to undergo two-week training from this year.The training module has been devised as part of its new Young Scientists Programme, or Yuva Vigyanik Karyakram, YUVIKA.
  • Nitesh Kumar Jangir, an Indian engineer has won the 2019 Commonwealth Secretary General's Innovation for Sustainable Development Award in the “People” category in London. Nitesh Kumar Jangir created Saans, a breathing support device to tackle avoidable deaths of premature babies from respiratory distress syndrome.
  • WHO offers a new tool "AWaRe" to contain rising antimicrobial resistance and make antibiotic use safer and more effective. AWaRe classifies antibiotics into three groups:
  1. "Access" specifies which antibiotics to use for the most common and serious infections.
    1. "Watch" specifies which ones should be available at all times in the healthcare system.
    2. "Reserve" are those that must be used sparingly or preserved and used only as a last resort.
    • The India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) (ECI) organized five-day training programme on Use of Technology in Elections for Election Officials of Union Election Commission of Myanmar. The Capacity Building Programs on Electoral technology is the 7th program in the series of the 09 programs scheduled across 2018-2019.
    •  The UAE has become the first country in the Gulf to launch 'goAML', a new anti money laundering reporting platform developed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimeto curb organised crimes. All financial entities and Designated Non Financial Businesses or Professions have to register on 'goAML'.  The platform will help the Financial Intelligence Unit of UAE to prevent money laundering, financing of terrorism and other illicit financial activities.
    • Saudi Arabia has become the 1st Arab country to be granted full membership of the Financial Action Task Force. It becomes the 39th member of FATF during the group’s Annual General Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
