•  Financial Literacy Week 2019 to be observed from June 3-7 on the theme of “Farmers” and how they benefit by being a part of the formal banking system. Financial Literacy Week is an initiative of RBI to promote awareness of key topics every year through a focused campaign.
  • On the occasion of the fifth Telangana State Formation Day on 02nd June 2019, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have extended their wishes to the people of the state.
  • Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa has left for Sweden on a four-day official visit. He will visit various operational and training units as well as interact with senior functionaries of the Swedish Air Force amongst others.

  • In an effort to raise awareness about science and environment through films, the 10th National Science Film Festival of India (NSFFI) will be organised in Tripura in January and February 2020.
  • The International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression is a United Nations observance each on 04th June. It was established on 19th August 1982.
  • The United Nations General Assembly declared 3 June as International World Bicycle Day. The resolution for World Bicycle Day recognizes the uniqueness, longevity, and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries.
  • The Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, chaired a high-level meeting to review the status of the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP) in New Delhi.  During the meeting, Dr Vardhan directed the officials for taking up the elimination of TB on a Mission Mode, which would include all stakeholders to come together for an aggressive strategy for TB free India by 2025. 
  • The 14th summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia was hosted by Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. The official agenda of meeting was to address ‘current issues in Muslim world’ and ‘recent developments in a number of OIC member states.
  • The '2nd Global Disability Summit' will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The objective of the summit is to deliberate on issues across the world concerning empowerment and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and to work out a mechanism for enabling them to live an independent and dignified life.
  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the two-day meeting of G-20 Finance Ministers and central bank governors in Japan. This will be the first overseas visit of Sitharaman as the Finance Minister.
  • World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5thin more than 100 countries. The theme for World Environment Day 2019 is 'Beat Air Pollution'.
  • International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing is organized every year on 5th June. 
  • “Cricket World Cup: The Indian Challenge” – a book on the history of the tournament from an Indian perspective by veteran broadcaster and writer Ashis Ray – has been formally unveiled by the chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board, Tom Harrison. 
  • World Food Safety Day is observed every year on 7th June. The theme for World Food Safety Day 2019 is 'Food Safety, Everyone’s Business'. 
  • Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is leading the Indian delegation for the two-day G20 Ministerial meeting on Trade and Digital Economy beginning at Tsukuba city in Japan. Mr. Goyal will discuss developments in the global trade situation, WTO matters, and digital trade. 
  • World Oceans Day takes place every 8 June. We celebrate World Oceans Day to remind everyone of the major role the oceans have in everyday life. The theme of World Oceans Day 2019 is ‘Gender and the Ocean’.
  • India has received an invitation from France to attend the outreach Session at the G-7 Summit to be held in France in August 2019. 
  • The International Labour Organization (ILO) launched the World Day Against Child Labour in 2002 to focus attention on the global extent of child labour and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it. The theme is Children shouldn’t work in fields, but on dreams! .
  • Among 288 movies from over 29 countries, four Indian movies to be screened at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival 2019The Bollywood movies which will be screened include Gully Boy, Andhadhun and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and one Tamil movie which will be screened is Super Deluxe.
  • World Blood Donor Day celebrated by World Health Organization on 14th June. The host country for World Blood Donor Day 2019 is Rwanda.
  • The Intersessional meeting of Kimberley Process (KP) will be hosted by India from 17th to 21st June 2019 in Mumbai. Besides this, two special forums regarding Diamond Terminology and Artisanal Mining – Small Steps to Larger Outcomes, will be held during the Intersessional.
  • On June 15, 2019, The fifth meeting of the Governing Council of The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhawan Cultural Centre, New Delhi. The guiding principle of Union Government is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwaas”.
  • On 16th June 2019, International Day of Family Remittances was observed all over the world. The day has adopted the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration for the reduction of remittance transfer costs, and greater financial inclusion through remittances.
  • ASEAN Health Ministers, during their 10th Meeting on 22 July 2010 in Singapore, agreed on the observance of ASEAN Dengue Day every 15 June of each year. Theme :- ‘End Dengue: Starts With Me’.

  • World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is being observed on 15th June. This day is observed on the 15th of June every year to voice opposition to the abuse and suffering inflicted on elderly people.
  • In 1994, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 17 the "World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought" to promote public awareness of the issue. The slogan for World Day to Combat Desertification 2019 is Let's grow the future together!.
  • The second edition of World Food India to be held from 1st to 4th November 2019 in New Delhi, which will position India as Food Processing Destination of the World. The tagline of the event will be “Forging Partnerships for Growth”.
  •  Autistic Pride Day is being observed on 18th June every year. Autistic pride recognizes the importance of pride for autistics and understands it not as a disease but as a difference. 
  • Sustainable Gastronomy Day is celebrated around the world on 18th June. It emphasizes the need to focus the world’s attention on the role that sustainable gastronomy can play.
  • The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Yury Trutnev addressed a gathering of businesspersons and industrialist in Mumbai and invited Indian Investments in the Russian Far East. 
  • International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict is celebrated around the world on 19th June to raise awareness of the need to put an end to conflict related sexual violence. Panel Discussion: "The Importance of a Survivor Centred Approach".
  • Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs chaired the 20th Meeting of the Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC) held in New Delhi. 
  • World Refugee Day is celebrated around the world on 20th June to raise awareness about the precarious condition of refugees around the world who have been forced to leave their homes due to war, persecution and conflict. Theme for 2019: Step With Refugees — Take A Step on World Refugee Day.
  • National Council of Educational Research and Training organised 4th edition of National Yoga Olympiad of school children in New Delhi.
  • The International Day of Yoga is being observed on 21st June every year.It  aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. This is the 5th Edition of International Day of YogaTheme: Yoga for Climate Action.
  • World Music Day is observed every year on June 21.  Each year there are events in over 120 countries and 700 cities around the world, not including France where there were too many events to count. 
  •  United Nations Public Service Day is celebrated around the world on 23rd June. The day celebrates the value and virtue of public service to the community.
  • The United Nations observes 23 June as International Widows Day. The day is celebrated to draw attention to the voices and experiences of widows and to galvanize the unique support that they need.
  • Bollywood actor Anupam Kher is coming out with his autobiography, "Lessons Life Taught Me Unknowingly".

  • The Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance is hosting a Meeting of Expert Working Group on Paris Pact Initiative in New Delhi.  The meeting focuses on Illicit Financial Flows deriving from the trafficking of Opiates originating in Afghanistan.
