•  India will celebrate 1st July as the "Goods & Services Tax DAY". This year, it is the second anniversary of the implementation of historic tax reform of Goods & Services Tax. The introduction of GST in the Indian economy has replaced a multi-layered, complex indirect tax structure with a simple, transparent and technology-driven tax regime.
  • India observe 1st July as the National Doctors' Day. The day is celebrated to recognize the contributions of physicians to individual lives and communities. National Doctor's Day is also celebrated to honour the legendary physician Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy
  • Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra begins in Puri, Odisha. The Rath Yatra marks the journey of Lord Jagannath along with his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra from Jagannath temple to Gundicha temple.
  • The United Nations observes first Saturday of July every year as International Day of Cooperatives.  The day is celebrated to increase the awareness of cooperatives. The event underscores the contributions of the cooperative movement in resolving the major problems addressed by the United Nations.Theme : "COOPS 4 DECENT WORK".

  • The annual Bonalu festival kicked off at the Jagadamba temple in historic Golconda Fort, Telangana. Bonalu is celebrated every year in the state during the first month of the monsoon season.  Bonalu is the "state festival" of Telangana.
  • The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has released the book ‘Vivekadeepini’ in ten languages. It is a concise book of aphorisms that contains glimpses of India’s wisdom. The book will be published by Vedanta Bharati.

  • The 2nd India-Russia Strategic Economic Dialogue begins in New Delhi. The first Dialogue was held in St. Petersburg in November 2018.
  • The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship organised the 36th meeting of the Central Apprenticeship Council (CAC) in New Delhi

  • India will host the 14th conference of the parties from September 02 to 13 in Greater Noida. 197 countries are expected to participate in the conference.Three crucial issues in this conference are desertification, land degradation and drought. 

  • 4th Director General level talks between Narcotics Control Bureau (India) and Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (Myanmar) was held in New Delhi. India and Myanmar have resolved to exchange crucial information relating to drug trafficking and precursors.
  • The United Nations observes 11 July every year as World Population Day. This year's World Population Day calls for global attention to the unfinished business of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development.
  • The first Global Conference for Media Freedom co-hosted by the UK and Canada in London.

  • The Golden Jubilee Edition of International Film Festival of India, will be held from 20th Nov till 28th November 2019 in Panaji, Goa. 
  • 43rd session of the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO was held in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan from 30 June to 10 July 2019. 
  • 13th meeting of the India-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) was held in London. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Railways and Secretary of State for International Trade of the UK participated in the meeting. The 14th meeting of the JETCO would take place in New Delhi in 2020.
  •  The 8th meeting of India-Uzbekistan Joint Working Group on Counter-Terrorism was held in New Delhi. The Joint Working Group reviewed threats posed by terrorist groups worldwide and in their respective regions including cross border terrorism.
  • The United Nations observes 18 July every year as Nelson Mandela International Day. Nelson Mandela Day is an occasion for all to take action and inspire change.
  • World Day for International Justice is observed all around the world on 17th July. The aim of the day is to promote international criminal justice and as a way of supporting the work of the ICC.
  • "Kargil: Untold stories from the War", the book published by Penguin Random House, is authored by Rachna Bisht Rawat.
  • Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting P.Javadekar inaugurated the 10th Jagran Film Festival in an event held at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. He highlighted the importance and impact of cinema on life of people and termed that it is a medium which connects people.
  • Lucknow will host the 11th biennial edition of DefExpo from February 5 to 8, 2020. The focus of the Expo will be on "Digital transformation of defence". The main theme of DefExpo India-2020 will be “India: the emerging defence manufacturing hub”.

  •  India celebrates 23 July every year as the “National Broadcasting day”. On this day in 1927, the first ever radio broadcast in the country went on the air from the Bombay Station under the Indian Broadcasting Company. On 8th of June, 1936, the Indian State Broadcasting Service became All India Radio.

  • India remembers its brave hearts on 26 July which is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas. On this day, the country remembers the extreme valour, sacrifice and exemplary courage of Indian soldiers during 1999 Kargil war. 
  •  Kargil veteran Lt Col Dr Samir Rawat has been invited as an eminent keynote speaker at the 32nd International Congress of Psychology 2020 (ICP) in Prague which is the most prestigious and biggest international event in the psychological world with over 8000 delegates participating in ICP..

  •  The 5th international Dharma-Dhamma conference was inaugurated by Union Minister of State Kiren Rijiju. The aim of the conference is to address people about the terror, violence and global warming prevalent in the world. 
  • World Health Organization observe 28 July every year as "World Hepatitis Day" to step up national and international efforts on hepatitis. The theme for 2019 is “Invest in eliminating hepatitis”.The host country for World Hepatitis Day 2019 is Pakistan.
  • Prime Minister of Nepal inaugurated India-Nepal Logistics Summit between India and Nepal in Kathmandu. The theme of the summit was “Transforming Logistics Landscape”. 

  •  United Nations observes 30 July every year as World Day Against Trafficking.
