• A total of five governors have been appointed by President Ram Nath Kovind, including the transfer and appointment of Kalraj Mishra.
    1. Kalraj Mishra, the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, was transferred and appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan. He will replace Kalyan Singh.
    2. Taking over Mishra’s role as Himachal governor is former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
    3. Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana, replacing ESL Narasimhan.
    4. Bhagat Singh Koshyari has been appointed as the new Governor of Maharashtra. Koshyari will replace Vidyasagar Rao.
    5. Arif Mohammed Khan has been appointed as the Kerala governor in place of P Sathasivam.

    • Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane has assumed charge as Vice Chief of the Indian Army. He succeeded Lieutenant General D. Anbu.
    • The Government of India has accepted the resignation of State bank of India Managing Director Anshula Kant. Now she has been appointed as the managing director and chief financial officer of the World Bank.
    •  IPS officer Vivek Kumar Johri took charge as the Director General (DG) of the country’s largest border guarding force, BSF. He will replace Rajni Kant Mishra.
    • Chief election commissioner Sunil Arora took charge as chairman of Association of World Election Bodies (AWEB). The CEC will serve a two-year term till 2021.
    • India’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Jaideep Sarkar has been concurrently accredited as the next High Commissioner of India to the Kingdom of Lesotho, with residence in Pretoria. 
    • Senior diplomat B Bala Bhaskar was appointed as the next Indian Ambassador to Norway. He will replace Krishan Kumar, who has been heading the Indian mission in Norway since July 2018.
    • Vijay Kumar Chopra, who is the Chief Editor of the Punjab Kesari Group of newspapers and Vineet Jain, Managing Director (MD) of Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited (BCCL), the publisher of Times of India, is unanimously elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Press Trust of India(PTI) the country’s premier news agency.
    • Microsoft has appointed Rajiv Kumar as the new managing director of Microsoft India Research and Development Pvt Ltd (MIRPL).
    • Justice Vikram Nath has been appointed as the chief justice of the Gujarat High Court. \
    • Pramod Kumar Mishra will be the new Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will replace Nripendra Mishra. 
    • Former Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha has been appointed the Principal Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 
    • Mahabaleshwara MS, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka Bank, has been inducted to the managing committee of Indian Banks’ Association (IBA).
    • The Haryana Government has appointed cricket legend Kapil Dev as the first Chancellor of Sports University, Rai (Sonepat).
    • Former judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court P. Lakshmana Reddy, who has been appointed as State’s Lokayukta. He is known for his campaign against corruption.
    • United Nations Secretary-General appointed Lieutenant General (Retired) Abhijit Guha as the head of the UN mission in Hodeidah, Yemen.
    • Cognizant Technology Solutions has appointed Ramkumar Ramamoorthy as Chairman and Managing Director of Cognizant India.
    • Wing Commander Anjali Singh has joined the Indian Embassy in Russia as India’s first female military diplomat to be posted in any of the Indian missions abroad.
    • Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Takehiko Nakao has announced his resignation. He became the president of ADB on April 28, 2013.
    • The Centre has cleared four names recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for elevation as judges of the apex court. The four appointed judges are
    1. Himachal Pradesh High Court: Chief Justice V. Ramasubramanian
    2. Punjab and Haryana High Court: Chief Justice Krishna Murari
    3. Rajasthan High Court: Chief Justice S. Ravindra Bhat
    4. Kerala High Court: Chief Justice Hrishikesh Roy.

    ·         IDBI Bank’s Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Samuel Joseph Jebaraj as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) for a period of 3 years.
    ·         Madhya Pradesh government will appoint filmstar Govinda as brand ambassador to promote the state’s traditions and tourist places.
    ·         Madhukar Kamath was elected as the chairman of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for 2019-20. He will replace Hormusji N Cama.
    ·         Nilesh Shah, Managing Director of Kotak Asset Management Company (AMC), has been appointed as the new chairman of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
    ·         Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas was appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Guinea Bissau.
    ·         National women’s badminton coach Kim Ji-Hyun has stepped down from her post of National women’s coach of India.
    ·         Bulgarian economist Kristalina Georgieva has been selected as the new Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. She will succeed Christine Lagarde.
    ·         Adille Sumariwalla has been elected as the member of the International Association of Athletics Federations council.
    ·         Payment technology company Visa announced that it has signed up world badminton champion Pusarla Venkata Sindhu (PV Sindhu) as its brand ambassador for two years.
    ·         Actor Madhuri Dixit has been chosen as “goodwill ambassador” by the Chief Electoral Office in Maharashtra to create awareness among people about the importance of voting.
    ·         Air Marshal HS Arora has been appointed as the Vice Chief of Indian Air Force. He will succeed Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria who will take over as the Chief of Air Staff.
    ·         Suresh Chitturi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of India’s leading poultry firm Srinivasa Farms, has been appointed as chairman of the International Egg Commission(IEC) for the next two years.
